March 2017 – Northampton MAC Visit BMFA Buckminster

Saturday the 25th of March saw members of the Northampton MAC arrive at BMFA Buckminster for a pre opening PR day.

32 Members arrived by coach and spent the morning learning about the National Centre project and viewing the current works (hosted in the almost complete events building) members were then taken out onto the flying site to view the flight-lines and general site layout, members also flew a range of hand-launch electric aircraft on what turned out to be a perfect sunny afternoon.

Following a further questions and answers session back in the Events Building, club members then re-boarded the coach to head for a bite to eat at the nearby (and very good) Tollemache Arms in Buckminster village.

Feedback was very positive and a thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all, I look forward to welcoming members of the Northampton Model Flying Club back to BMFA Buckminster once the facilities are fully open later in the year.

My thanks to the club for taking a keen interest in the project and requesting (and organising) a visit to the site to find out more.
